Certified Protocol Leader (CPL™)
Standards
The certification is designed for individuals who work in supervisory or management positions in protocol, event management, office management, and related fields, supporting their organization’s high-level client support and event planning programs. Applicants must demonstrate their proficiency and commitment through the following qualifications:

Verified eight years of experience in protocol, executive client support, event planning, office management, or related fields (with relevant duties described).

Submission and approval of two peer-reviewed articles published in the GCPD Protocol Monthly Magazine.

A passing grade on the Certified Protocol Leader exam.

Three letters of recommendation:
one from a senior leader in your organization
one from a high-level client you have supported professionally, and
one from a peer of equivalent rank or standing who has worked with you frequently.

Payment of the $500.00 administration fee.
Certification Benefits
Recipients of the CPL™ certification will be recognized as qualified leaders and experts in the field. This certification attests that the holder has built a foundation of professional qualities and has taken the necessary steps to develop as a certified leader. Benefits include:

Maintaining Certification
To maintain your CPL™ certification:
Earn 40 Professional Development Hours (PDH) within three (3) years, 60% of which must come from Global Certification Network Partners (see GCNP course list).
24 of the PDHs must be from leadership specific training.
Publish two (2) additional articles in Protocol Monthly Magazine to continue to share your knowledge and insight with the broader protocol community.
Pay the renewal administrative fee of $500.00.
